PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a load of media while enhancing the matching precision of the media.SOLUTION: This medium feeder (U2) includes: a holding member (32) which has a holding member body (33), an enclosing member (45) extending to the loading member (11) side of a medium (S), and a sucking device (HF), and absorbs the medium (S); an end matching member (13) which is supported by an accommodating container (TR2) while matching the medium (S), extends to a loading direction of the medium (S), and arranges ends (18+19) on the holding member body (33) side from an end (45a) of the enclosing member (45), the end matching member (13) being provided in the holding member (32) corresponding to a region where the end matching member (13) overlaps with the enclosing member (45) in a direction of attaching/detaching the accommodating container (TR2) to/from a device body (U2a); and a movable part (45) that moves from a feedable position where the medium (S) are feedable to an overlap canceling position where the overlap is canceled upon attachment and detachment.
