PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair which narrows the width, can be used conveniently, and can be folded compactly in addition to the ability to get access to a kitchen sink, a washbowl, and so on in the state of sitting on the seat frame.SOLUTION: A wheelchair connects a pair of both side frames 1 which is connected with a driving wheel 3 through a folding link 2. A footrest 8 is connected to the both side frames 1. The footrest 8 connects a footrest plate 42 which can be folded in horizontal posture and vertical posture to the tip end of a footrest arm 41. The both side frames 1 are equipped with an elbow pad frame 12, an up-and-down frame 14, and a lower frame 11. Storage space 18 which houses the footrest plate 42 in vertical posture is provided under the elbow pad frame 12. The footrest arm 41 is at the outer side of the both side frames 1, is located more internally than the driving wheel 3, and is connected to the both side frames 1 so that it can tilt in a vertical surface. The wheelchair arranges the footrest plate 42 in vertical posture in the storage space 18 with the footrest arm 41 folded in the vertical direction.
