PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting device and a mounting unit which can reduce mounting tact time without causing interference between one mounting head part and the other mounting head part or movable plates to support the other head part.SOLUTION: A mounting device comprises: one or a plurality of supply stages 2 to supply an electronic component or electronic element; a pair of first movable parts 5 movable in one axial direction; second movable parts 6 which can move in the other axial direction orthogonal to the one axial direction, and are respectively disposed in the pair of first movable parts 5; mounting head parts 7 which are respectively mounted on the second movable parts 6, and include a suction nozzle to suck and hold the electronic component or electronic element; and a mounting stage part 3 configured to mount the electronic component or electronic element on a substrate. The pair of first movable parts 5 are controlled to move in the same direction while keeping a predetermined distance or more therebetween.
