PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism capable of contributing to practical application of a product constituted so as to create an instruction book.SOLUTION: A printing system includes: an image forming apparatus (printer) 102; a portable terminal; and a finisher (post-processing device) 103. The image forming apparatus 102 receives a print job, performs printing based on the print job, and when post-processing which cannot be executed by the printer is specified in the print job, transmits post-processing information showing the content of the post-processing to the portable terminal. The portable terminal includes display means for displaying the transmitted post-processing information. The finisher 103 interprets the content of the post-processing information to be displayed by the display means, and executes the post-processing based on the interpreted content of the post-processing information.
