Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a motor control device for controlling a multiphase motor and for, when an open-circuit failure occurs at a target phase, quickly and accurately detecting at which of the phases the open-circuit failure has occurred, and an electric power steering device using the motor control device.SOLUTION: The motor control device determines that an open-circuit failure has occurred at a target x-phase, if the power supply voltage Vb is a predetermined voltage Vthr or more, the motor rotational speed ω is a predetermined speed ωthr or less, the voltage instruction Vx* of the target x-phase is not near zero, the current Ix of the target x-phase is a predetermined current Iu_thr or less, and a state in which the control error is a predetermined error or more is detected for a predetermined time or more.
