IMAGING APPARATUS AND TIMING SIGNAL CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of an imaging element.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a CCD image sensor 121; a timing generator 125 that outputs a horizontal synchronization signal and an electronic shutter pulse to the CCD image sensor 121; and an image processing processor 110 to control the timing generator 125. Exposure time is adjusted by outputting the electronic shutter pulse to the CCD image sensor 121. The image processing processor 110 controls so that the timing generator 125 outputs the electronic shutter pulse at intervals of a multiple of two or more integers of a cycle that the horizontal synchronization signal is outputted.
