Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic content management method dispensing with management of terminal identification information that users use in a server side, offering the users flexibility of using purchase content on two or more terminals and imposing low management load on the server side, and to provide a program to be installed in users' terminals and a management server device.SOLUTION: A management server manages the number of registered management browsing applications for every user, and provides a purchase user with content data and a bookshelf index information file paired with the content data. The management server verifies a consistency check of the management browsing application installed in the user's terminal, a consistency check of the bookshelf index information file and a consistency check of the content and, if all of the verifications are not all right, performs control not to permit the browsing of the content.
