PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner provided with a joint hose attachable to and detachable from a body portion, which can improve reliability.SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a body unit 2 including an electric fan and is moved on a floor surface; a joint hose 3 detachably engaged with the body unit 2 to guide sucked air flow to the body unit 2; an engagement release portion 31 performing releasing operation of the engagement between the body unit 2 and the joint hose 3; and a connector 40 having terminal portions 41a and 41b provided to the body unit 2 and the joint hose 3, respectively, and including locking mechanisms 42 and 43 electrically connecting the body unit 2 to the joint hose 3 by the connection of the terminal portions 41a and 41b, and also locking the connected state. When the joint hose 3 is connected, the connector 40 is locked by the locking mechanisms 42 and 43, and the locking of the locking mechanisms 42 and 43 is released by the operation of the engagement release portion 31.
