Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for superconducting wire in which deterioration of the characteristics is minimized, and to provide a superconducting wire and an electrical apparatus.SOLUTION: A coating material 10 for a superconducting wire has a tensile strength at break of 12.0 N/3 mm or higher, and a tensile break elongation of 12% or more at -196°C. The coating material 10 preferably contains a base material 11 consisting of polyimide resin. Furthermore, the coating material 10 preferably includes a viscoelastic body layer 12 formed on one surface of the base material 11.
