Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine in which a temperature of a lubricating oil 3 in an oil pan 2 is rapidly raised during warming-up, and sufficient fuel economy can be exhibited.SOLUTION: The oil pan 2 is connected to an opening 1A on a lower end of a crankcase 1, and the lubricating oil 3 is stored up to the position of an inner surface 1B of the crankcase 1 over the oil pan 2. The oil pan 2 is made of steel, and the crankcase 1 is made of aluminum alloy. An inner surface 2B of the oil pan 2 and the inner surface 1B of the crankcase 1 are covered by a heat insulating material 5. Accordingly, heat of the lubricating oil 3 is not radiated to the oil pan 2 or the crankcase 1 during warming-up.
