SAFETY DEVICE FOR MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION WORK OF EQUIPMENT IN MACHINE ROOM OF PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for maintenance and inspection work of equipment in a machine room of a passenger conveyor, capable of reliably securing the safety of an operator even when a controller is once carried outside from the inside of the machine room, then the operator enters the machine room and performs a maintenance and inspection work of the equipment in the machine room.SOLUTION: The safety device for maintenance and inspection work of the equipment in the machine room 1 of the passenger conveyor includes: a detection means 10 which detects whether the controller 3 stored in the machine room 1 exists on a prescribed position, in a passenger conveyor where the controller 3 for controlling an electric motor 5 is carried outside from the machine room 1 when the maintenance and inspection work of the equipment stored in the machine room 1 is performed and a working space for performing the maintenance and inspection work is formed; and a control means 11 for performing control processing which makes the supply of power to the controller 3 possible when it is detected that the controller 3 exists on the prescribed position by the detecting means 10 and, when it is detected that the controller 3 does not exist on the prescribed position by the detection means 10, makes the supply of power to the controller 3 impossible.
