PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent change from being left behind.SOLUTION: A settlement device 1 includes a support part 1e for supporting a storage bag storing commodities; a lock part 1d having the lock state and a release state for preventing the storage bag supported by the support part 1e from being taken from the support part 1e in the lock state and allowing the storage bag supported by the support part 1e to be taken from the support part 1e in a release state; a registration part 1a for registering commodities; a settlement part 1b for executing settlement of the commodities registered by the registration part 1a; a change outlet 1g for discharging change; a detection part 1f for detecting presence/absence of change remaining in the change outlet 1g; and a control part 1c for bringing the lock part 1d in the lock state when the storage bag is set on the support part 1e and bringing the lock part 1d in the release state when the detection part 1f detects that there is no change in the change outlet 1g after the commodity settlement by the settlement part 1b.
