PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a thermal head that can make an arbitrary thermal head easily.SOLUTION: The substrate for a thermal head includes: two or more heat generating sections 9; a control terminal group 11c that comprises forming two or more control terminals 11b for mounting a control section 11a for controlling the heat generation of these heat generating sections 9; two or more first electrode patterns 19 that connect these heat generating sections 9 and these control terminals 11b; two or more second electrode patterns 21 that connect these control terminals 11b and the outside substrate; and a terminal group for electric parts 28c comprising forming two or more terminals for electric parts 28b for mounting electric parts, wherein two or more partitions composed by these heat generating sections, one control terminal group 11c, these two or more first electrode patterns 19, these two or more electrode patterns 21, and these two or more terminal groups for electric parts 28c are disposed same and repeatedly in the direction of these heat generating sections 9.
