Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus allowing a photographer to observe a subject image as an optical image and a subject image captured and image-displayed while switching between both subject images without changing his/her posture.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging element for imaging a subject image formed by an imaging lens 12; an image display section 21 capable of displaying as an image the subject image captured by the imaging element; a light control section 20 disposed at a display side of the image display section 21, and capable of switching between a light scattering state and a transparent state in an effective display region; a first optical system for allowing the subject image formed by light having passed through the imaging lens 12 to form an image on the light control section 20; and an ocular lens 23 for directing an image corresponding to a region having the transparent state of the light control section 20, of the display image by the image display section 21, and an image formed on a region having the light scattering state of the light control section 20, of the subject image formed on the light control section 20, so that a photographer can observe both images from an ocular window 24.
