Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive housing structure capable of easily protecting wire coating and improving assembly workability and a discharge lamp lighting device.SOLUTION: A housing structure of a discharge lamp lighting device 10 includes a first housing 11 and a second housing 12. Wires 29 are pulled out through a slit 18 of the first housing 11. Engagement parts 23 and 19 are provided between the first housing 11 and the second housing 12. A side of the second housing 12 abutting on the engagement parts 23 and 19 is bent toward an opening 30 of the first housing 11. In the engagement parts 23 and 19, the second housing 12 is bent toward the inside of the first housing 11. The engagement parts 23 and 19 include grooves 19 formed in the slit 18 and a bent portion of the second housing 12. The first housing 11 and the second housing 12 are fixed with screws at the side opposite to the side where the slit 18 is formed in the first housing 11.
