Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a 1,3-disubstituted-6-methyl-5-nitrouracil derivative useful as an intermediate of a bulk drug for an anti-inflammatory therapeutic drug and the like.SOLUTION: The method for producing a compound represented by formula (2) (wherein Rand Rare the same or different and each a 1-6C alkyl group or a 3-7C cycloalkyl group) comprises a step of allowing a mixture of a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein Rand Rare the same as defined above) and concentrated sulfuric acid to react with 1.0-2.0 moles of concentrated nitric acid per mole of the compound of formula (1).
