HANDRAIL BELT FOR ESCALATOR FOR WEAK-SIGHTED PERSON, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE HANDRAIL BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in conventional safety improvement measures (fall prevention or the like) such as provision of a direction mark piece to a handrail belt, wherein the material of the handrail belt is limited to rubber materials and it is not applicable to urethane-made handrail belts becoming the mainstream in recent years, and also a manufacturing method for integrally joining a direction mark piece to such a urethane-made handrail belt has not been established.SOLUTION: A direction mark piece 6A of a circular shape or the like having the same material as a urethane-made handrail belt 6 and having a color different from that of the handrail belt is provided so that at least one direction mark piece is present within a semicircular range of inverting parts 5A, 5B of the handrail belt 6 to be the front of an escalator 1. As one manufacturing method therefor, the direction mark piece 6A is heated and pressed against the surface of the handrail belt 6 to achieve welding integration. As another manufacturing method, a primer agent layer is provided on the surface of the handrail belt 6 at a part in which the direction mark piece 6A is located, and a urethane adhesive layer is provided at the direction mark piece 6A to achieve joining integration by means of a heating mold and a pressing mold.
