Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase coordination of portable machines providing greater flexibility than machines that are in fixed locations, for increasing efficiency in manufacturing operations of a structure.SOLUTION: A method and apparatus comprise a tracking system 210 and a controller 212 in communication with the tracking system 210. The tracking system 210 is configured to identify characteristics about a group of portable machines 226 configured to perform an arbitrary number of manufacturing operations on a workpiece. The controller 212 is configured to control performance of the arbitrary number of manufacturing operations on the workpiece using the characteristics about the group of portable machines 226 identified using the tracking system 210.
