Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved imaging apparatus and imaging method capable of simply selecting a subject that attracts keen interest from an operator.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: a detection part for detecting saccade that is the eyeball movement of the operator's eyes; an eccentricity acquisition part for acquiring the eccentricity of the saccade on the basis of the saccade detected by the detection part; and a subject selection part for selecting as a subject to be photographed a subject located in an eccentric direction corresponding to the eccentricity acquired by the eccentricity acquisition part.
