Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more preferably perform restoration processing of a color component.SOLUTION: In order to restore and display a color component of an input video signal, a video display device comprises: a video processing unit that inputs the input video signal transmitted with a video information amount reduced, and performs interpolation processing on a pixel value of the color component of the video signal on the basis of the absolute value of a spatial variation in a luminance component of the input video signal; and a video display unit that displays video with the pixel value of the color component subjected to interpolation processing by the video processing unit.
