MAGENTA TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magenta toner capable of providing a printed matter with high light resistance even if using the magenta toner including magenta pigments having azo coupling.SOLUTION: The magenta toner is obtained by steps of: polymerizing a polymerizable monomer using at least a radical polymerization initiator to prepare fluid dispersion of resin microparticles; dispersing the magenta pigments having azo coupling to prepare fluid dispersion of the magenta pigments; salting out, flocculating and fusing the resin microparticles and the magenta pigments having azo coupling using a salting-out and flocculating agent to form toner mother particles; washing the toner mother particles; and adding an external additive to the toner mother particles. The amount of the radical polymerization initiator contained in the magenta toner is 200 ppm or less.
