Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert for an engine cylinder, the insert being used for removing a foreign object in a combustion land area of a piston guided in a cylinder and which has an improved lifetime and a function more efficient than that of conventional technology.SOLUTION: In order to remove foreign objects in the combustion land area of the piston, the insert sweeps an outer circumferential surface of the piston when the insert passes the top dead center of the piston, to thereby discard the collected foreign objects. The insert includes a first annular member. In the first annular member, a second annular member is inserted into a groove.
