Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a replacement device having a small and simple constitution for replacing a multi-spindle head from a machine tool.SOLUTION: The replacement device 12 includes a mounting/demounting mechanism 54 which can be self-propelled from a carrier for carrying the multi-spindle head, to a replacement table provided at the side of the machine tool, or vise versa. The mounting/demounting mechanism 54 has a base 62, and a supporting plate 74 for holding the multi-spindle head. The base 62 has a cam 78 formed with a first slope 76 and a second slope 77, and the supporting plate 74 has an up/down moving roller 96 for sliding on the slope 76. Following the up/down moving roller 96 ascending and descending along the slope 76, the supporting plate 74 is moved up and down to leave from and approach the base 62.
