IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND DRIVE-VOLTAGE GENERATING CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost by configuring a drive-voltage generating circuit for driving an actuator of a small number of components having necessary characteristics, without using the (expensive) components having a high current rating.SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having a plurality of heads each using a capacitive load as an actuator for ink ejection, a plurality of current amplifying circuits are provided in the drive-voltage generating circuit that outputs a drive voltage being applied to the actuator, each current amplifying circuit consists of a plurality of bipolar transistors and a plurality of resistance elements, and operates to equalize the output current loads of the bipolar transistors in respective current amplifying circuits, so that the image forming apparatus is configured to couple the drive voltage waveforms output from respective current amplifying circuits, and to apply the drive voltage waveform thus coupled to each head driver that controls the actuator of each head.
