PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for precisely controlling automatic extinction of a video light in accordance with luminous intensity of an original photographing atmosphere without being affected by illumination light of the video light.SOLUTION: The digital camera includes: an imaging control section 103 for exposure-controlling an imaging element 101 in a range corresponding to moving image data which is wider than a range of moving image data displayed or recorded in an imaging region of the imaging element 101 and obtaining the moving image data during lighting of a video light source 115; a video light emission control section 111 which temporarily light-outs a light emission amount of a video light in an exposure period corresponding to a range except for the range for obtaining moving image data to be displayed or recorded among moving image data of a second frame; and a video light extinction determining section 109 for determining extinction of the video light source 115 on the basis of the moving image data in a range except for a range for obtaining moving image data of a first frame and the moving image data to be displayed or recorded among moving image data of the second frame.
