WAVELENGTH PATH SETTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR WAVELENGTH MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength path setting method and a device that are capable of achieving an improvement of wavelength utilization efficiency and a reduction of packet processing load in a wavelength multiplex communication network.SOLUTION: A wavelength path setting device in an optical wavelength multiplex network where each node device has a structure integrating an optical switch section and a packet switch section determines whether a congestion occurs or not by each node device's monitoring of traffic volume in terms of communication packet flow, sets at least one wavelength path to resolve the congestion on the basis of congestion occurrence information from the node device, and switchover at least one packet flow involved in the congestion to the wavelength path.
