DENTAL HANDPIECE WITH LIGHTING AND CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for keeping optimum brightness required for a medical examination according to a light quantity inside an examination room during a dental examination, a surrounding environment such as a shadowless lamp, and a position of a lesion inside an oral cavity to be treated such as a molar or a front tooth.SOLUTION: A dental handpiece 1 with lighting includes a lighting means 5 for lighting a subject, and an illuminance detection means 4 for detecting reflection illuminance from the subject near an end part of a handheld member, and further includes a monitoring means for monitoring a current and a voltage supplied to the lighting means 5, a storage means 14 for storing a prescribed value, a comparison means for comparing an illuminance detection value and/or the monitored values of the current and the voltage with the prescribed value, a control means for controlling current and voltage values according to a value obtained from the comparison means, and a setting means 12 for arbitrarily setting the prescribed value stored in the storage means 14. The dental handpiece 1 with lighting further includes an alarm means 8 for comparing the monitored value obtained from the monitoring means with the prescribed value preserved in the storage means 14, detecting abnormal condition and generating an alarm.
