Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber socket, that simplifies optical axis alignment between an optical fiber and a photoelectric conversion element, improves precision of the optical axis alignment, and facilitates sealing of the photoelectric conversion element.SOLUTION: A socket 1 comprises: a circuit block 3 including a circuit board 31 on which a photoelectric conversion element 2 is mounted having a resin sealed bare chip, and a receptacle member 32 integrally molded with the circuit board 31 and having a plurality of fitting holes 35; and a sleeve block 4 on which a sleeve 41, a cavity part 42 housing the photoelectric conversion element 2, and a plurality of fitting projections 43 are integrally molded. In a state where the fitting projections 43 are fitted to the fitting holes 35, the fitting holes 35 and the fitting projections 43 are positioned with the same degree of precision as the precision of a molding technique, such that an optical axis of an optical fiber 5 inserted in the sleeve block 4 and an optical axis of the photoelectric conversion element 2 are aligned. Accordingly, improvement in alignment precision is achieved by aligning the optical axes by means of fitting and insertion work only, and sealing of the photoelectric conversion element is facilitated by resin sealing.
