Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing oxalic acid for allowing its mass production industrially in high yield while achieving stable and sure treatment and good initial cost, running cost and the like by relatively simple process and production equipment, and consequently, greatly lowering a price of oxalic acid.SOLUTION: In the method for producing oxalic acid, oxalic acid is produced based on oxidative decomposition of tartaric acid in an aqueous solution by OH radicals. That is, an OH radical takes a hydrogen atom from a carboxyl group of the tartaric acid to oxidize it and to form a double bonded oxygen atom to liberate it as carbon dioxide. Then, the OH radical is added to an unpaired electron of a carbon atom in the residue, and glyoxal is produced. In the glyoxal, the OH radical takes a hydrogen atom to be oxidized and causes the carbon atom have an unpaired electron, and by addition of the OH radical, oxalic acid is synthesized. In this way, 1 mole of oxalic acid is produced from 1 mole of tartaric acid. |
