ACTUATION DECISION APPARATUS FOR PASSENGER PROTECTION CONTROL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for preventing erroneous actuation decision of a passenger protection device.SOLUTION: An actuation decision apparatus 1 is provided with a main control unit 4 having an angle speed sensor 2 for detecting a roll angle speed in a vehicle advancing direction, and a decision circuit 3 capable of obtaining a roll angle by integrating the roll angle speed from the angle speed sensor, comparing the roll angle, the roll angle speed and a preset threshold for actuation, and generating the actuation signal of the passenger protection device. Also, the actuation decision apparatus 1 includes a horizontal acceleration sensor 5 capable of detecting acceleration in a vehicle width direction, and a horizontal accelerometer 6 capable of generating the actuation signal on the basis of the horizontal acceleration from the horizontal acceleration sensor 5. An integrator 21 for integrating the horizontal acceleration 6a is provided, and the decision circuit 3 of the main control unit 4 is configured so as to enable the temporary change of the threshold for the actuation on the basis of the integrated value 21a of the horizontal acceleration 6a from the integrator 21.
