DEVICE TO WARN RISK OF PEDESTRIAN JUMPING BEFORE VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which determines a pedestrian having a high possibility of jumping onto and crossing a road before a vehicle and warns the pedestrian jumping before the vehicle.SOLUTION: With respect to a pedestrian standing behind an on-road object which is crossing a road before a vehicle itself and determined to have no possibility of colliding with the vehicle itself, a device determines whether the pedestrian represents a possibility of crossing the road or jumping onto the road ahead of the vehicle itself. The device determines that the pedestrian represents a possibility of crossing the road or jumping onto the road if a face of the pedestrian is directed toward the on-road object crossing the road ahead of the pedestrian for a predetermined period or longer and if the face of the pedestrian never turns to the vehicle itself. If determining that the pedestrian represents the possibility of crossing the road or jumping onto the road, the device outputs an attention-seeking warning with a tone, a melody or an audio announcement different from a warning for a possibility of collision.
