Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress degradation in image quality.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a first head which ejects first ink; a second head which ejects second ink; a moving mechanism which moves a relative position of the first head and the second head in a predetermined direction; and a control unit which repeats an ejection operation in which ink is ejected from nozzles while relatively moving the head and a medium in a movement direction intersecting the predetermined direction, and a transporting operation in which the head and the medium are relatively moved in a predetermined direction, and adjusts a head distance between the first head and the second head in a predetermined direction in superimposing a main image to be formed with the first ink on a background image to be formed with the second ink.
