METHOD AND ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM FOR IMAGE-GUIDED PROCEDURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To communicate information in image-guided procedures.SOLUTION: A processor (116) of an ultrasound imaging system (100) is configured to collect first position data from a 3D position sensor (120) while a probe (105) is moved along an anatomical surface, to generate a 3D graphical model based on the first position data and to acquire ultrasound data with the probe (105). The processor (116) is configured to collect second position data from the 3D position sensor (120) while the probe (105) is acquiring the ultrasound data, and to generate an image based on the ultrasound data and register the location of a structure in the image to the 3D graphical model. The processor (116) is configured to display a representation of the 3D graphical model on the display device (118).
