Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently set a device identifier.SOLUTION: At a hub device having a plurality of ports including a first port, a second port, and a third port, in response to determining that a first message 114 which is transmitted from a host device 110 and includes a broadcast indicator requests enumeration, a ring communication topology is emulated by serially propagating messages 126 including an enumeration indicator to a first device via the first port and to a second device via the second port. A first distinctive identifier value of the first device and a second distinctive identifier value of the second device are provided to the host device.
