The platform is used to support an object. The light source provides illumination light. The image sensor is used to capture an image of the object. The driving unit drives the image sensor so that the image sensor moves relative to the object. The controller analyzes a sensed image to determine whether an object exists in the platform. When the object exists in the platform, the controller starts a scan step. Even if a hardware element is not installed separately, the image scanning device can automatically start the scan step and also simplify user operation.
