PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support preventing a collision with a pedestrian by predicting a crossing possibility of the pedestrian on a roadside of a running lane on which a user vehicle is running at an earlier stage.SOLUTION: A driving support device comprises: oncoming pedestrian determining means 14b for determining whether or not an oncoming pedestrian on a roadside of an opposite lane opposing the running lane is crossing the opposite lane from information as to a front of the user vehicle detected by front information detecting means 11 and 12; crossing possibility determining means 14c for determining whether or not a front pedestrian recognizes crossing of the oncoming pedestrian and whether or not the front pedestrian recognizes presence of the user vehicle from a direction of a front pedestrian's face, if the oncoming pedestrian determining means 14b determines that the oncoming pedestrian is crossing; and controlling means 14d and 14e for predicting that there is a possibility of crossing of the front pedestrian to perform preparation control for the front pedestrian, if the crossing possibility determining means 14c determines that the front pedestrian recognizes the crossing of the oncoming pedestrian and does not recognize the presence of the user vehicle.
