PORTABLE WIRELESS TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable wireless terminal which is inexpensive and of non-contact type.SOLUTION: A very widely spread portable wireless terminal has a non-contact infrared ray detection element incorporated in it near its liquid crystal display screen to measure the temperature of the forehead of a user. This makes it possible to highly accurately measure the body surface temperature or the body temperature without touching and without operator intervention. The method for positioning the portable wireless terminal relative to a person for whom measurement is to be taken includes a method, known as "photographing oneself," which makes use of a sub-image pickup element provided near the LCD display of the portable wireless terminal to photograph the face of the user him or herself, and a method which makes use of the surface protective panel of the LCD display in place of a mirror. Also, if positioning is difficult, there is another method which scans the whole face of a person with the infrared ray detection element, and adopts the highest temperature among the obtained body surface temperatures as the body surface temperature of the forehead of the person.
