PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly convenient remote control transmitter even for an apparatus, like a lighting apparatus, provided at high places such as a ceiling face.SOLUTION: A remote control transmitter 10 comprises a first light emitting part 2 and a second light emitting part 3 radiating optical signals for remote controlling an apparatus provided at a high place like a lighting apparatus, and an operation part 4 provided on an operation face of a transmitter body 1. When the operation part 4 is operated with the operation face of the transmitter body 1 directed upward, optical signals are outputted upward from light emitting elements 2a, 2b of the first light emitting part 2, and optical signals are outputted forward from light emitting elements 3a to 3b of the second light emitting part 3. An angle θa determining directional characteristics of the light emitting elements 2a, 2b is set to a value larger than an angle θb determining directional characteristics of the light emitting elements 3a to 3c.
