PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively use an unused toner or a used toner depending on contents of a print image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a used toner that is remained on a photoreceptor and collected through a printing process, an unused toner that is newly supplied through the printing process, and determination means that determines a type of image data to be newly printed. When printing image data, the image forming apparatus selectively uses the used toner or the unused toner depending on the type of image data determined by the determination means.
