RADIOACTIVE WASTE MATERIAL PROCESSING METHOD AND PROCESSING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive waste material processing method and processing unit capable of preventing the enlargement of a contamination range by suppressing the dispersion of a radioactive material.SOLUTION: A radioactive waste material processing unit includes: a liquid tub 2 for storing a liquid L; a plasma torch 3 where a jetting port 31 of plasma P faces the liquid L of the liquid tub 2; and supply means 4 for supplying a powdery or particulate radioactive waste material M to the plasma torch 3. The radioactive waste material M supplied to the plasma torch 3 by the supply means 4 is oxidatively decomposed by the plasma P jetted into the liquid L of the liquid tub 2 from the jetting port 31, and then discharged into the liquid L of the liquid tub 2.
