METHOD FOR DETECTING MOVING HEAT SOURCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately detecting a targeted moving heat source among the heat sources existing in a detection space, using two-dimensional data outputted from an infrared detector having two-dimensionally arranged infrared detecting elements.SOLUTION: Heat sources existing in a detection space are detected from two-dimensional data outputted from an infrared detector. The detected heat sources are stored in memory as stationary heat sources. A possible moving heat source is determined when the two-dimensional data initially read in is subtracted from the data subsequently read in to result in the difference conditions in agreement with predetermined conditions. Furthermore, a definite moving heat source is determined through comparison with positional shifts from the data stored in memory for the stationary heat sources.
