PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier, which can be reduced in the size of the body without degrading usability and in which a place for setting thereof is saved.SOLUTION: The humidifier includes a water tank 2 detachably mounted on a body 1, a water tank part 6 for temporarily reserving water supplied from the water tank 2, a vaporization filter 7 in a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape for vaporizing water in the water tank part 6, a blower 8 blowing air to the vaporization filter 7, a suction port 3 sucking indoor air, and a blowing port 5 blowing humidified air. The suction port 3 is disposed close to one surface of the vaporization filter 7. Thereby, an unnecessary space between the suction port 3 and the vaporization filter 7 is eliminated to reduce the size of the body 1. Even when the water surface ripples to rise over the suction port 3, for example, when the humidifier is transferred, water is reserved in the vaporization filter 7 by the surface tension of the vaporization filter 7, and thereby, the water is prevented from spilling from the suction port 3.
