HEAT-ASSISTED MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-assisted recording medium which is high in surface flatness and exhibits high touchdown power.SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium includes at least a substrate, a plurality of foundation layers formed on the substrate, a magnetic layer formed on the foundation layer, and a heat sink layer formed at an arbitrary position between the substrate and the magnetic layer. The heat sink layer contains Cu as a main component, contains one or more elements selected from a first additive element group consisting of Ag, Bi, Nd, and Co, and furthermore contains at least one or more elements selected from a second additive element group consisting of Zn, Ga, Ge, W, Cr, Mo, and Ti.
