Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a heat-assisted recording medium which is segmented by the uniform grain boundary width and has a magnetic layer comprising magnetic crystal grains grown with column, and to provide a magnetic storage device having a low error rate using the heat-assisted recording medium.SOLUTION: A magnetic recording medium comprises a substrate, a plurality of foundation layers formed on the substrate, and a magnetic layer containing an alloy having an L1structure as a main component. The magnetic layer has a two-layer structure constituted of a first magnetic layer comprising an FePt alloy having an L1structure and C, and a second magnetic layer comprising an FePt alloy having an L1structure, and CrO, YOor TaO. Moreover, a non-magnetic intermediate layer for controlling exchange coupling is provided between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer. |
