Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a mechanism for sucking chips in a machine tool, capable of being simply mounted even on a compact working lathe or the like without requiring an installation space.SOLUTION: A mechanism 1 for sucking chips arising from a working lathe includes a chip sucking opening 5a for sucking chips arising from a cutting tool 4 supported to a tool holder 2 mounted on a tool rest; an in-holder passage 3 formed inside the tool holder 2 to be used to suck the chips, in communication with the chip sucking opening 5a; and fluid paths 6, 7, used to suck and discharge the chips, for sucking inside the in-holder passage 3 using negative pressure by flowing a fluid such as a coolant fluid. Due to the in-holder passage 3 for sucking the chips, installed inside the tool holder 2, a pipe for sucking the chips need not be separately installed adjacently to the tool holder 2. Therefore, even if it is hard, as is the case with a compact turret lathe, to secure a space where the pipe for sucking the chips is installed in a turret, the mechanism for sucking chips can be simply mounted thereon. |
