APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR STARTING POWER GENERATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start or restart power generation in a power generation system without using external power supply.SOLUTION: A starting apparatus 1 for a power generation system 2 that has an evaporator 3 for evaporating a liquid working medium to generate steam, a generator 4 for generating power by means of the steam generated in the evaporator 3, a condenser 5 for condensing the steam used for power generation in the generator 4 and a pump 6 for force-feeding the working medium liquefied in the condenser 5, and that returns the working medium from the evaporator 3 back to the evaporator 3 via the generator 4 and the condenser 5 in generating power in the generator 4 includes: a power storage section 8 for storing power generated in the generator 4; a line capable of supplying the stored power from the power storage section 8 to the pump 6; and reverse flow prevention means 9 disposed on the line connecting the generator 4 to the power storage section 8 to prevent the stored power from flowing back from the power storage section 8 to the generator 4.
