Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that can suppress size increase of a panel and the like while securing the response speed.SOLUTION: First and second liquid crystal panels 51a and 51b as first and second optical modulation elements each include a plurality of pixel blocks PE including a first sub-pixel PG, a second sub-pixel PW, a third sub-pixel PR, and a fourth sub-pixel PB with different arrangement. Since first and second modulation light from these are combined in a light combining part 60, the appearance resolution and brightness can be secured by the first and second sub-pixels PG and PW of green color base.
