OPTICAL FIBER UNIT, MANUFACTURING METHOD OF OPTICAL FIBER UNIT, AND OPTICAL FIBER CABLE USING OPTICAL FIBER UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber unit preventing loosening of thread from an optical fiber unit at a cable terminal part, and easily taking out a specific optical fiber from the optical fiber unit in intermediate branch work.SOLUTION: An optical fiber unit 1 according to the present invention has a configuration formed by bundling a plurality of optical fibers 2 with two binding members 3A and 3B. Each of the binding members 3A and 3B has a double structure including a core part that is provided at a central part and formed of a high-melting-point material having a high melting point, and an outer jacket part that is provided to cover the core part and formed of a low-melting-point material having a melting point lower than that of the high-melting-point material. The two binding members 3A and 3B are spirally wound around the peripheral surface of a fiber bundle 2A formed by bundling the plurality of optical fibers 2, along the longitudinal direction with the mutual winding direction inverted. The binding members 3A and 3B are stuck to each other at an intersection T by adhesiveness that is developed by heating.
