Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to balance the right and left steering characteristics considering manufacturing variance as the whole apparatus without using a measuring instrument such as a torque meter.SOLUTION: An electric power steering apparatus includes: a relative angle detection device for outputting an electric signal corresponding to relative rotation angle of two coaxially arranged rotary shaft: an electric motor imparting driving force to one of two rotary shafts; a torque detection part for detecting the steering torque based on the output value of the relative angle detection device and a correction value stored in a storage region; and a neutral correcting value set part for setting the correction value. The neutral correction setting part sets the correction value based on a right side output value which is an output value from the relative angle detection device when the electric motor is rotated in the right direction at a predetermined rotational speed and a left side output value which is an output value from the relative angle detection device when the electric motor is rotated in the left direction at a predetermined rotational speed.
