VIDEO AUDIO RECORDING APPARATUS AND VIDEO AUDIO RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video audio recording apparatus and a video audio recording method, which can extract a CM broadcasting section in parallel to recording of a television broadcast program.SOLUTION: The video audio recording apparatus includes: HDD 11; a stream buffer 17; a scene change detection section 13 detecting a scene change from video data of an encoding stream held in the stream buffer 17; a silence detection section 14 detecting silence; a matching buffer 19 which temporarily holds scene change information and silence information; a shift point detection section 15 detecting a shift point where the scene change and the silence simultaneously occur; a CM filter 16 determining a section in which two or more combinations of the shift points, where intervals of the detected shift points are within a prescribed time range with previously set reference time as a center consecutively continue to be the CM broadcasting section; and a shift point stack table 18 recording time information of the CM broadcasting section determined by the CM filter 16.
